CROCHET: Resilient Butterfly Tutorial | The Loopy Stitch Welcome to my Resilient Butterfly Tutorial. This little butterfly was first designed for my Resilience In Bloom blanket.

MATERIALS: For this tutorial, used Stylecraft Naturals Organic Cotton in the following colours: Gypsum, Peach, Coral, Peppermint, Sage and Storm 4mm crochet hook Scissors and yarn needle. This is a long video.

These little stars are so easy to make and work up very quickly. Have used Caron Simply Soft with a 4mm hook to give the stars more structure. The stars may benefit from blocking but so far they are holding their shape well and not curling.

Basic geometric shapes in crochet: square, hexagon, circle, triangle and pentagon. Done as crochet charts rather than written directions.

Tatted owl earrings. Done with needle-tatting. Very cute.

Spiral-square crochet square. Author's note: The name of this square is the local phrase for things that aren't lined up straight.

This Granny Rectangle begins with a strip of "granny stitch" to make the centre of the rectangle, rather than doing something awkward with crocheting in the back loops of a starting chain, as I've seen elsewhere.

Triangle crochet motif, a little more interesting than a plain triangle, but not too complicated

While this is a pattern for a potholder, it could be used as a motif used for something else; the two-colour spiral is attractive in its own right.
