Characters: Rose Tyler
(189K)

Summary: "Rose Tyler battles Prehistoric Beasts, Torquay housewives and her new therapist."

Rose Tyler in the Alt'verse, and it is not a reunion fic. Which is a plus, because there's a lot more reunion stories than "Rose moving on with her life" stories. But this Rose has found hard to move on, not just from the Doctor, but other things that have battered her soul, legacies and fallout, and war wounds of the psyche.

The plot here isn't linear, it goes forward, and then flashes back a little, which keeps you on your toes when reading it.

Surreal in a Torchwood way, and it all comes together in the end. A hopeful ending, if not a happy one.

Summary: The stars are going out all over Creation, and he's at a Christmas party. In Lannet.

At first, I thought that this was simply a normal adventure with the "Ninth" Doctor (from the BBC webcast "The Scream of the Shalka") and his companion, Alison. Then we get hints of things not being quite right, intriguing hints. So I read on, finding both of them very much in character. And more disquieting hints. I really like what the author has done with this, with the atmosphere and subtlety, and a way of reconciling canon.

Summary: Not exactly companion love.

Snark in the dark. The story is mostly dialogue, but it's very easy to figure out who is speaking; the characterisations are spot-on. It was a bit confusing at the start, but I suppose it was meant to be. It left me with a smile.
